Hump Day Love Mix

For your hump day listening, here’s some positive love… for the most part.

Music: White & Nerdy

I love a good laugh and Weird Al is good for that. I have almost all of his albums. I have a playlist with the original songs and the parodies just so I can marvel at how great Weird Al is at his job. πŸ˜€

White and Nerdy ~ Weird Al

And the original…

Ridin’ Dirty ~ Chamilionaire ft. Krayzie Bone

Music & Lights: Gangnam Style

It’s the day after Christmas. Lights are still up but the music has changed.

Gangnam Style ~ PSY

Music & Lights: Ode to Joy (Kevin and Octaves)

Still more lights from everyone’s favorite house.

Ode to Joy ~ Kevin and Octaves

Music & Lights: Grinch

I love this family. They go all out and their neighbors are really nice to let them do this insanity every year. πŸ˜€

Mr. Grinch

Music & Lights: Carol of the Bells (August Burns Red)

It’s December. That means Christmas lights set to music. All the better that it’s my all time favorite Christmas song — Carol of the Bells.

Carol of the Bells ~ August Burns Red

Music: Teeth by Lady Gaga

The first time I saw this video (age-restricted… sorry about that) I laughed myself silly. But I love this song. Totally puts me in the mind of vampires. πŸ˜€

Teeth ~ Lady Gaga

Music: Skyfall

I might not have written a movie review for Skyfall but it was an amazing movie. By far the best of the Daniel Craig Bond movies. It was a return to the original Bond concepts, even the stylistic opener. I truly enjoyed the movie and the theme song was fantastic. Adele did a wonderful job on this song, which is probably why I keep playing it over and over without getting sick of it.

Skyfall ~ Adele

Music: We Belong Together

I never saw Tristan & Isolde but I’m glad it came out because it introduced me to Gavin DeGraw and this beautiful song that belongs on any Romance book soundtrack where the characters are destined. Since that’s most of my books, you can see why I love this song so much.

We Belong Together ~ Gavin DeGraw

Music: I Am the Body Beautiful

From the Too Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar soundtrack comes a self-esteem boost song that is a must play for me.

“Carry yourself like a queen and you will attract a king.”

I Am the Body Beautiful ~ Salt N Pepa

Music: Bram Stoker’s Dracula Beginning

This is a total coincidence that I scheduled this post on 31 October. I thought I would have to shuffle around some posts, but nope. This spot was waiting for me to put this song here.

Totally fits the day and I LOVE this soundtrack. The movie is great but the soundtrack made it so much better. This is the music I listen to when I’m writing sinister vampires.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula Beginning ~ Wojciech Kilar

Music: Hall of the Mountain King

Okay, I absolutely love classical mixed with modern. This totally epitomizes that. I mean come on! Headbanging with cellos while playing a metal version of Hall of the Mountain King. LOVE IT!

Hall of the Mountain King ~ Apocalytipca

Music: F***in’ Perfect

I love Pink. The woman has so many songs that resonate with me. This is one of them. I absolutely love this song. If I’m in a crappy mood, this song makes me feel better. If I’m in a good mood, then this song reminds me to stay that way.

Perfect ~ Pink

There’s an original uncut version of this song as well.

Music: Sugar Water

The first time I heard this song was in episode one of Buffy the Vampire Slayer season two (When She Was Bad). I’ve loved it ever since. The beat is very sensual. Mix that with my memory of the scene where I originally heard it and I like playing this song when I’m writing something steamy.

Sugar Water ~ Cibo Matto

Music: Before I’m Dead

Oops. This slipped my mind. Bad me. Okay well, at least I have plenty of music to fill up a year of these things. πŸ˜›

This is a song from the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. I pretty much love that whole soundtrack but this song especially. I always imagine the end of the movie, which was so sweet, when I hear this song and it’s very sensual so it’s kind of a sex scene song for me.

Before I’m Dead ~ Kidney Thieves
