Music: Running Away

It took me a long time to realize I really like Hoobastank. I never paid attention to song titles or band names back when I listened to the radio all those years ago (I’m all iPod now). So when I heard a few songs from a CD I realized that Hoobastank performed a LOT of songs that I like.

This particular song fits a lot of my titles because my characters are like me and hate conflict. They also don’t want to be hurt. I know when I have a recurring theme and I don’t think I’ll be changing it anytime soon. So this song will go on the soundtrack of several books to come.

Running Away ~ Hoobastank

Music: Glitter and Gold

I don’t care what anyone says, I still LOVE Jem and the Holograms. I might not be able to watch a lot of the shows I did as a kid, but this one is timeless to me.

One of my all time favorite songs from the series was Glitter and Gold. And if you haven’t figured it out by now, I have really eclectic taste in music. 😛

And a bonus track…

Music: Smack My B***h Up

I was a huge DBZ fan way back when. That was such a fun show. Because of that love, I happened upon an AMV (anime music video) of Goku and Vegeta fighting each other set to music. That music was Smack My Bitch Up by Prodigy. I have loved that song ever since.

I actually like most everything Prodigy has put out, so don’t be surprised if you see more of their stuff turn up in the future. My favorite part of this song is the vocals in the middle.

Music: All About Us

This is my get through it, motivational song. I love playing this when I’m feeling down.

All About Us ~ t.A.T.u

Music: I Want It All

I’ve been totally feeling like this lately. Seems like I’m doing a ton and not getting anywhere. I want it all and I want it NOW. 🙂

I Want It All ~ Queen

Music: Bomb A Head

I really need to finish watching Tenjho Tenge. It’s an interesting fighting anime full of T&A and great motion animation. The plot is most of the way decent and this opener is one of the main reasons I really like this anime. So here’s both versions — the opening animation and the full song.

Music: Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

This. Just this. That’s it.

Music: Ain’t No Other Man

Just to let you know the type of sick personality I am… I like playing this song while I’m writing a menage. Why, you ask. Because I get a strange sort of satisfaction imagining the heroes pouting as they try to figure out who the heroine is thinking of while she’s singing it.

Yes, yes, I know. I’m a sick, twisted individual who shouldn’t be let out without supervision. It’s still funny. 😛

AIN’T NO OTHER MAN ~ Christina Aguilera

Music: Don’t Let Go (Love)

I absolutely love this song!!

I haven’t heard it in a while, but it suddenly popped into my head and I had to hear it again. This is totally on the soundtrack of a book I have in my writing queue. Said book doesn’t have a title yet, but it’s about a vampire, his brother and the lover that they have to share.

DON’T LET GO (LOVE) ~ En Vogue

Music: I Don’t Wanna Cry

This is the song I play when I’m trying to evoke some major sadness in my writing. There are a few of my books that have this song in their soundtracks — ERIS, SERENITY and HARLEY ON THE ROCKS. A few of the ones I’m working on now have this on their soundtracks too.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for a sad love song.

I DON’T WANNA CRY ~ Mariah Carey

Music: Moonlight

A friend posted this on FB and I absolutely love it. As I said in a previous post, I’m all over Beethoven so this was an instant win for me.

Music: Once Upon a December

I love this song. Anastasia was a good animated movie with some beautiful songs and this one was the best. I used this song as my test for my high school sign language class. I got an A and I still remember it. Every now and then, I “perform” it because the signs flow with the music so well.

Like my Japanese, my sign language isn’t as good as it was when I was learning. Use it or lose it really does suck. But I will remember this song for as long as I can. If you catch me in a good/giving mood and I have the song handy, I might perform it for you. 😀

Music: Remember the Name

This is one of my motivational songs. I’m all about the chorus. The first time I heard this song, I wanted to put that chorus on a t-shirt and a poster and anything else that would be in my face remind me that this profession isn’t easy but it is what I chose.

Music: Things That Make You Go Hmmm

This song makes me laugh every time I hear it. It’s not something I listen to while I’m writing, but it is on Top 200 playlist. 😛

Music: Bartholomew

You’ll recognize this song if you’ve seen the promos from the new TNT show Hatfields and the McCoys. I heard it in the theaters so many times that it grew on me.

BARTHOLOMEW by The Silent Comedy

This puts me in a gritty mood. Not sure if I can describe it better than that, but this is the type of song I’ll be playing when my characters would need to dig deep for the strength to do something that has to be done even though they don’t think they’re up to the task.
